Understanding the Blackboard Assignment Manager

Go to your Blackboard Course.

Click on the Assignment Manager link provided by your professor. The Assignment Manager may be found in any content area, primarily in Course Documents or Assignments. Click on to post in the Assignment Manager.

Read the assignment. Write your essay in a Microsoft Word format. Save and rename your file. You may add comments to your professors if you wish. Next, click on Browse. Use the Browse button to upload your file from your disk, hard drive, or USB Flash drive.

Locate your file and click on Open. Click on Submit to send your file to the grade book. You will receive a message that your assignment has been successfully updated.

Click on OK. You can check your online grade book for your grade. There are several ways to do this. You may click on the Tools Navigation Button and then on My Grades.

Sometimes, professors will also add a link to your online grade book within a content area, such as Course Documents.

When your assignment is first submitted, there is an exclamation point where the assignment has been entered. Once your professor has graded your assignment, the grade will appear. You can click on the grade to see any comments the professor has entered.

You can always click on your grade and on View to review your results.
