Using the New Features in the
Blackboard 7.3 Discussion Board
As always, when you enter your Blackboard Course, you are brought into the Announcement page area. Click on the Discussion Board folder.
Click on a forum.
Note. You can choose the "Tree View" or "The "List View" of this site. The "Tree View" arranges posts in expandable (click on the + sign) and collapsible (click on the - sign) threads under the Parent Post. In the "List View" posts are arranged in chronological order.
Reply to one of the posts by clicking on a thread.
If you click on Show Parent Post, you will be able to see the Parent Post as you Reply.
Your instructor may set options for you. For example, if your instructor has set the option for you, you can click on Quote and you can include the text of the original message in any replies to that message.
You may also "Collect" threads. A thread or mutiple threads can be collected for viewing by clicking on particular threads or by clicking on Select All to select all the threads.
After you have selected the threads or threads, click on the Collect button.
