Understanding the Blackboard Content Collection

The Blackboard Content Collection is a powerful new Blackboard feature. It allows users to store and share files and folders; develop and share personal, academic, and professional portfolios, and to access the rich resources of the online library.

Go to your Blackboard Course.

To access the Content Collection, click on the Content Collection tab at the top of the page.

You will be presented with an entirely new set of Navigation Folders.

My Content
The My Content Area is used to store folders and files for each user. Opening the My Content area will allow access to personal files the user has added to the Blackboard Content Collection.

Library Content (e-Reserves)
E-Reserves allow librarians to make content available to users throughout the System. Collections of digital resources, such as books, articles, dynamic links, etc., are made available in the Library Content folder or laced into a course folder within e-Reserves.

Portfolios
Portfolios are collections of content organized into customized Web Pages which can be shared with others. Launching the Portfolio Creation Wizard, students can save and display.

Tools
The Tools area consists of Bookmarks, Search, and Help. Bookmarks enable quick access to frequently used content without having to navigate through several folders.
