Earth Hour 2010 - March 27, 8:30 pm local time

Switching off lights for one hour is a simple act that can lead to significant results. Each year since its inception in Sydney, Australia in 2007, Earth Hour has inspired growing numbers of people across the planet to turn off their lights for one hour as a collective statement urging action on climate change. In 2009, hundreds of millions of people worldwide participated in Earth Hour. Currently 112 countries and territories and 1,882 cities around the world have pledged to support Earth Hour 2010. International landmarks including the Empire State Building, Eiffel Tower, Hiroshima Peace Memorial, Sydney Opera House, Tokyo Tower, Pyramids in Egypt, Christ the Redeemer in Rio de Janeiro, Acropolis in Athens, and Burj Khalifa in Dubai have all pledged to go dark this year.

Visit earthhour.org to register your support, read the latest news, and learn other ways to participate in this global action.
