Dr. Syleecia Thompson, Berkeley College Professor, School of Business, invites the public to a book signing of Rhythm Without Blues, The Dichotomy of a Music Genre. Her fascinating tell-all reveals the dark side of the music industry and what an artist has to go through to bring his or her talent to the masses. Guests will have the opportunity to meet and greet staff, and learn about degree programs. Transfer students will learn about transfer opportunities. This hands-on workshop is for parents/guardians of high school seniors interested in applying for financial aid, and students are encouraged to attend. How to apply for a PIN number and a full explanation of the financial aid process will be discussed. A presentation will take place on Berkeley College institutional aid in the form of scholarships and grants. Berkeley College is exhibiting the work of artist Charles Mingus III at the Midtown Campus Gallery, First Floor Lobby, 3 East 43rd Street. Mr. Mingus is a gifted and versatile artist who developed his skills in metal spinning, sculpture, and environmental art. He is also a teacher and lecturer in art and multimedia. The exhibit is open to the public Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm and on Saturday from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. An artist’s reception will be held on Wednesday, March 10 from 5:30 to 7:30 pm.
