Faculty of the Year

In December 2011, Berkeley College honored eight faculty members during the Faculty of the Year Awards dinner in New York City. The honorees received awards for excellence in teaching as recognized by their students and colleagues at Berkeley College.

“These annual awards honor faculty members who serve as role models in demonstrating commitment to the success of Berkeley College students,” said Glen Zeitzer, PhD, Berkeley College Provost.  

School of Business

Wolfgang Hinck, Ph.D., Associate Chair, Marketing. Dr. Hinck holds a Ph.D. and M.B.A. from the University of Texas-Pan American; and a B.B.A. from Fachhochschule Nordostniedersachsen (now: Leuphana Universität Lüneburg) in Lüneburg, Germany.

Glen DeSalvo, Instructor, Accounting and Finance. Mr. DeSalvo has an M.B.A. from Adelphi University; an M.S. from Long Island University; and a B.A. from the State University of New York, New Paltz.

School of Liberal Arts

Byron Hargrove, Ph.D., Instructor, Humanities and Social Sciences. Dr. Hargrove has a Ph.D. and M.A. from the University of Maryland and a B.A. from the University of NorthCarolina, Chapel Hill.

Gail Wood-Miller, Ph.D., Instructor, English. Dr. Wood-Miller has a Ph.D. and M.A. from New York University and a B.A. from William Paterson University.

School of Professional Studies

Edward J. Lynskey, Ed.D., Instructor, Justice Studies – Criminal Justice. Dr. Lynksey has an M.A., an Ed.S. and an Ed.D. from Seton Hall University; and a B.A. from William Paterson University.

Marjorie Silverman, Instructor, Health Services Administration. Ms. Silverman has an M.B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania and a B.A. from Duke University.

Developmental Education

Giammarie Pieri, Instructor, Developmental Education. Ms. Pieri has an M.A. and B.A. from Webster University and an M.A. from the Teachers College, Columbia University.

Library Services

Amanda Piekart, Reference/Instruction Librarian. Ms. Piekart has an M.S.L.I.S. from Pratt Institute and a B.A. from William Paterson University.
