Faculty Accomplishments

Barbara Cohen, J.D., Ph.D., Health Services, School of Health Studies, presented “Cultural Competence Needs of Orthodox Jewish Patients” at the Second Annual Conference on Medicine and Religion in Chicago, IL. In addition, Dr. Cohen co-chaired the First Jewish Nurses Conference at the Hunter-Bellevue School of Nursing in Manhattan, NY.

Barbara Cohen presented “Walk Beside Me: Co-Leading in the Online Classroom” at the Blackboard Collaborate Connections Summit 2011 held in Las Vegas, NV. In addition, Ms. Cohen is the author of “Working with Claims Adjusters,” which was published in Nursing Malpractice (Fourth Edition, Volume 1).

Michael McDonough, Chair, Health Services Administration, School of Health Studies, was appointed as a faculty representative to the Regents Council – American College of Healthcare Executives, New Jersey chapter.

Shelley C. Safian, Ph.D., Health Services, School of Health Studies, presented “Maximizing Physician Reimbursement” to a group of SunTrust bankers and accountants who specialize in healthcare at Moss, Krusick and Associates in Winter Park, FL.
