Keeping with tradition we kicked off Alumni Weekend 2017 with our annual NYC Dinner Cruise. On the top deck of The Spirit of New York our alumni, faculty, and staff celebrated another year together under the stars in New York harbor. We had a group of 90 alums and guests this year and thankfully good weather on Friday the thirteenth!
On Saturday morning Dr. Ansley Lamar hosted a Positive Leadership Skills workshop at the New York City campus. The interactive workshop focused on dialogues to help participants identify positive leadership skills which can assist with their long term career development. The group then enjoyed the reunion networking lunch which was followed by a panel discussion with recruiters sharing their personal stories and insights on the job search and professional development.
Something new offered this year was the historic walking tour of Grand Central Terminal followed by a wine tasting social at The Michael Jordan Steakhouse on Saturday afternoon. Participants learned about the history of Grand Central as well as some of the hidden secrets sometimes in plain sight but overlooked daily by thousands of commuters.
On Sunday the weekend concluded with a group of alums participating in the Central Park Making Strides Walk raising money and awareness for The American Cancer Society. After the walk the group enjoyed bunch at P.J. Clarke's across from Lincoln Center.
