Berkeley College alumna Lisa Meehan

Graduate Attains Leadership and Organizational Skills for Successful Career at Prudential Financial

Berkeley College alumna Lisa Meehan Lisa Meehan graduated from Berkeley College’s Executive Secretarial Program in 1985, and recently obtained her Certified Administrative Professional designation. It was during her time at Berkeley College that she learned the leadership and organizational skills that would help her succeed at Prudential Financial for the past 25 years.

A resident of West Caldwell, NJ, Ms. Meehan credits her professors and Berkeley College’s staff for giving her proper guidance while pursuing her education. “The staff had my best interest at heart,” she said. “They worked hard to make sure I succeeded.”

Ms. Meehan is an executive assistant at Prudential Financial’s offices in Roseland, NJ. In this role she provides support to Prudential Financial’s product and sales executives. She also has served as a volunteer EMT dispatcher with the West Essex First Aid Squad since 1981.

What does success mean to you?

Success to me means that you work hard at what you do, not only as an individual, but also as a team player.

What initially inspired you to enroll in Berkeley College?

What initially inspired me to enroll in Berkeley College was a dear friend of mine, a person I look up to who also attended Berkeley College.

How did Berkeley College prepare you for success?

Berkeley prepared me for success by teaching the necessary skills, specifically, organizational and leadership skills, to successfully excel in my field.

In which way(s) do you see yourself being successful in the future?

By always finding new things to learn, and making sure that I am up on all the new programs and policies that are out there.

What advice would you offer today’s college-bound students?

Follow your dreams. Never stop learning.

What was your most memorable moment at Berkeley College?

Meeting new people who in the end became a big part of my life and career.
