Berkeley College Named a Top Veteran-Friendly School by U.S. Veterans Magazine

Alfonso Matos Mesa Military Student Berkeley College’s commitment to military and veteran students continues to be recognized by leading sources. Berkeley was included in the highly anticipated 2018 evaluation of the nation’s Best of the Best Top Veteran-Friendly Schools by U.S. Veterans Magazine (USVM). USVM provides the latest, most important veteran news, covering a wide range of topics focused on helping veterans to find education, work, business, and other opportunities.

“While we’re extremely proud of the recognition we’ve received, our main focus continues to be helping servicemembers and their families in every way we can,” said Ed Dennis, Assistant Vice President, Office of Military and Veteran Affairs at Berkeley College. “From providing the flexibility to earn a degree while they’re actively serving, to helping soldiers transition to civilian life, we offer many services and resources dedicated to our military and veteran students.”

“Berkeley’s Criminal Justice program was a perfect follow-up to my ten years in the Marine Corps,” according to Gorje Ruiz, a veteran student. “They also offer many special programs for veterans.”

Alba Ramos, another veteran student, agrees, “Along with an amazing support system for veteran students, Berkeley offers flexible scheduling options that made it easy for me to fit classes into my busy life.”

Berkeley College has received numerous awards and recognitions for Military/Veteran programs, including: Top 10 Military Friendly College by GI Jobs Magazine for 2017; Best for Vets College by Military Times 2013, 2014, and 2017; Military Friendly College by GI Jobs Magazine 2010-2014, 2016, and 2017; Military Friendly College by Military Advanced Education Magazine 2010-2015 and 2017. For the fifth consecutive year, U.S. News & World Report has ranked Berkeley College among the Best Online Bachelor’s Programs for Veterans.

Military Students in Cap and Gown More than 440 military students and veterans are currently enrolled at Berkeley College and over 150 military and veteran students graduated in 2018.
