Fashion students at Berkeley College have access to the fashion capital of the world.
In 1943, the first New York Fashion Week was held, with one main purpose: to distract attention from French fashion during World War II when workers in the fashion industry were unable to travel to Paris.
The four major fashion capitals of the world are New York, London, Milan and Paris. Each city holds fashion shows twice, in February and September.
In February, student volunteers from Berkeley College Fashion Marketing and Management worked behind the scenes at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week and Couture Fashion Week, observing and reporting on celebrity run-ins as they assisted with distribution of the Daily Front Row, a fashion industry publication.
