Howard Leslie joined Berkeley College in October 2009 and is responsible for the management of all its financial aid offices. He also oversees the administration of the student aid programs, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and institutional regulations.
Before joining Berkeley College, Mr. Leslie served as Corporate Director of Financial Aid and Compliance at Porter and Chester Institute. Prior to that position, he served for 10 years as Dean of Student Financial Services at Monroe College, Bronx, NY. He served 20 years as Director of Student Financial Services at the School of Visual Arts in New York City, and he has also been a functional consultant for enterprising software solutions such as Datatel Colleague and Oracle PeopleSoft.
Mr. Leslie holds an MS in Guidance and Counseling and a BA in Psychology from the City University of New York-Herbert H. Lehman College. Most recently Mr. Leslie received the 2007 Mr. Thomas Monahan Achievement Award from the New York State Financial Aid Administrators Association, Inc. Mr. Leslie is most proud of a Citation of Appreciation awarded to him in 1995 by former President Jimmy Carter in recognition of his role as a primary advocate for student financial aid in the Greater Atlanta area. Mr. Leslie currently serves as Second Vice President, responsible for training and innovation, for the The New York State Financial Aid Administrator's Association, Inc.; an Advisory Board Member and Spokesperson for the New York State Higher Education Services Corporation; a member of the Eastern Association of Financial Aid Administrators; a member of the New Jersey Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators; and a member of the Connecticut Association of Professional Financial Aid Administrators.
