Charlane Brown-Wyands was appointed Co-Chair, Justice Studies, School of Professional Studies, in September 2015. In this role, she ensures the effective delivery of curricula and program development for the Midtown Manhattan, Brooklyn, and White Plains campuses.

Ms. Brown-Wyands joined Berkeley College in September 2007, teaching law and criminal justice courses. She has served as a lecturer for St. John’s University, Queens, NY, and John Jay College of Criminal Justice, City University of New York (CUNY), New York, NY. She is a veteran of the New York Police Department where she worked in the Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Queens precincts. She was promoted to Captain in 2005 and Deputy Inspector in 2010.

Ms. Brown-Wyands holds a B.A. in Government and Public Administration, summa cum laude, from John Jay College of Criminal Justice, CUNY, New York, NY, as well as a J.D. from New York Law School, NY. In 2003, she was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship in Police Studies.
