Cheryl Howell was named Assistant Vice President, Student Development and Campus Life (SDCL) in March 2014. In this role she is responsible for working closely with faculty, staff and students to implement the overarching SDCL strategy. That strategy is to create an engaged community of students systemwide, recognizing that student identification with the individual location or Online remains critical.
Before joining Berkeley College, Dr. Howell was Dean of Students and Associate Dean of Students at St. Francis College; Career Counselor, Assistant to Senior Vice President, Government and Community Relations, and Student Organization Coordinator and Assistant to Dean of Students at Pace University; and Human Resources Information Systems Program Administrator at IBM.
Her professional affiliations have included Member, National Collegiate Athletic Association Student-Athlete Affairs Advisory Group; Doctorate Program Mentor, Dowling College; Member, National Association of Student Personnel Administrators; Board Member, Mid-Atlantic Career Counseling Association; Nominating Committee Member, Mental Health Association of Westchester County; Workshop Facilitator, INROADS; and Career Consultant, White Plains Youth Bureau Employment Council.
Dr. Howell holds an Ed.D in Educational Administration from Dowling College, NY; an MS.Ed. in Counseling and Personnel Services from Fordham University, NY; and a B.A. in Liberal Studies from Pace University, NY.
