Gail Okun began her career at Berkeley as a faculty member in 1981. She was appointed Department Chairperson in 1985, and assumed the position of Academic Dean in 1987. In 2007, Ms. Okun was appointed Associate Vice President, Advisement where she had direct supervision over the Deans of Advisement at the Woodland Park, Paramus, Woodbridge, Newark, and Online locations.
In January 2012, Ms. Okun was appointed Associate Provost, Registrar. Under the direction of the Provost, she is responsible for the oversight of academic records retention, including implementing improvements and streamlining information processing and security, maintenance, and report generation.
As the Associate Provost, Registrar, Ms. Okun works directly with the Deans of the Schools in various academic departments to determine the educational course requirements for graduation within each degree program. With the assistance of the Deans of the Schools, she currently supervises new course registration for each quarter at the College. The Registrar, along with the Office of the Registrar, makes room and location assignments for classes to ensure the most efficient use of space. The Office of the Registrar is also responsible for preparing transcripts and verifying matriculation after a student leaves the College.
Mrs. Okun holds a Master of Education from William Paterson University and a Bachelor of Science from Long Island University.
