Expertise: Men’s Wear, Dressing for Success, and Public Speaking
Background: Professor Woods has chaired the Fashion, Marketing, and Management Department at Berkeley College for five years, and is a former recipient of the College’s Instructor of the Year Award. Before coming to Berkeley College, he served as an Adjunct Professor at Parsons School of Design and the Keller Graduate School of Management. His corporate experience includes five years as a designer for Paolo Gucci’s enterprise in Florence Italy, where he was responsible for merchandising and design execution of men’s apparel for studios in Italy, London, and New York. Professor Woods is co-author of No Mother, No Mirror: A Guide to Gaining A Personal Edge with Business Dress For Women and Men (Houghton Mifflin, 2000).
The morning shows of WNBC and WCBS television stations have featured Professor Woods as an on-camera men’s fashion expert. In addition, he advises corporate groups about speaking in public and dressing for success, and is a member of the High School Advisory Board for the Newark School System.
Mr. Woods is currently working towards an Ed. D. in the Educational Leadership and Supervision program at Seton Hall University, South Orange, NJ.
Professional Affiliations: Member of the Association of Image Consultants International (AICI), Screen Actors Guild, and the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists.
Degrees: Professor Woods has a B.A. from Kentucky State University, and an M.F.A. from the University of Iowa.
