The Berkeley College Student Development and Campus Life Department works to provide a safe and secure environment that fosters students' intellectual, psychological, physical, social, and professional development. A diverse range of programs, activities, and services enhance the student experience.
One of the best ways to truly connect with the real pulse of the Berkeley community is through our social media networks. It’s a great way to meet and interact with classmates from all campuses and get the inside scoop on what’s going on at Berkeley.
Beginning with mandatory orientation, new students are familiarized with their new surroundings and the services and resources available to them. They are encouraged to become active participants in Berkeley College life.
Students seeking to be part of a close-knit community may reside in on-campus housing at the White Plains location. Various living accommodations are available at two residence halls, including studios and two- and three-bedroom apartments. Students benefit from the scenic beauty of Westchester and close proximity to New York City.
Diversity and Multicultural Activities
The diversity of the student body contributes to the cultural enrichment of the College community. Many ethnic and multicultural events are planned to promote understanding of the similarities and differences among cultures.
Giving back has long been part of the Berkeley tradition. Community service opportunities abound, allowing students to work with charitable organizations and participate in local activities that benefit the greater community. Administrators, faculty, and staff also get involved.
Athletics and Recreation
Various athletic programs and recreational activities offer students a great way to get some exercise, as well as develop leadership, sportsmanship, and interpersonal skills through intercollegiate, intramural, and club activities.
Recognizing that learning extends far beyond the classroom, each campus schedules a range of student activities—including field trips, guest speakers, social and cultural events, and more—to contribute to the Berkeley College experience.
Students of Berkeley College Online® can join online student organizations and can also participate in discussion boards, contests, and community outreach programs through Blackboard. Online students also have the option of participating in all on-site activities, programs, events, and clubs.
All students have a voice in Berkeley College governance through the Student Government Association (SGA). Elected SGA officers act as liaisons between students and the College Administration, and help plan campus activities and events.
High academic achievers may be elected into a variety of honor societies in recognition of their accomplishments.
