Assistant Dean, Online
Gina Okun was appointed Interim Assistant Dean, Online, in August 2016 and Assistant Dean, Online in January 2017. In this role, Ms. Okun works closely with online chairs and faculty, academic evaluators, and the Online Faculty Support Team. She also assists the Dean, Online, in coordinating and overseeing planning, delivery, and assessment of online academic degree programs.
Ms. Okun joined Berkeley College in 2004 as an adjunct online faculty member for the Larry L. Luing School of Business® where she taught undergraduate finance and business courses over a 12-year period. At the same time, Ms. Okun also worked for a private company, developing academic content for an online business/finance platform designed to prepare students to take the Certified Financial Planner exam.
Prior to working in academia, Ms. Okun held both administrative and engineering roles at Consolidated Edison Company of New York, Inc., where her responsibilities included analyzing potential earnings growth opportunities within the regulated electric utility framework, valuating company assets to determine financial risk exposure, managing small capital projects in electric-generating facilities, and ensuring that mechanical systems operated based on their designs.
Ms. Okun holds an M.B.A. in Finance from William Paterson University; and an M.E. and a B.E. in Mechanical Engineering, both from Stevens Institute of Technology.
