Dr. Suzan Melik was appointed as the Associate Chair of the Medical Assistant program in July 2016. She is a medical doctor who holds an M.B.B.CH. degree from Zagazig University Medical School in Egypt, where she graduated with Honors. Dr. Melik also passed the United States Medical Licensing Examination in 2009 and received her Certificate from the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates in 2010. Dr. Melik is also a Registered Medical Assistant from the American Medical Technologist. She also holds national certifications as a Clinical Medical Assisting, EKG technician, and Phlebotomy technician.

Prior to this appointment, Dr. Melik served as a full-time faculty member in the Medical Assistant Department since July 2013. She also taught most of the medical courses at Dover Business College since 2011.

Before serving as a faculty member, Dr. Melik worked as a Cardiology fellow and practiced in Internal Medicine and Family Medicine for six years. Dr. Melik also worked in medical research at the Department of Endocrinology, VA NY Harbor Healthcare System, Brooklyn, NY.

Dr. Melik is a Member of the American Medical Association, the American Medical Technologist, the Human Anatomy and Physiology Society, and the Egyptian Syndicate of Medicine.
