Graduates of the Patient Care Technician program are eligible to sit for a variety of certification examinations, including:

To qualify for graduation, students must participate in the Certified Patient Care Technician/Assistant (CPCT/A) certification examination administered by the National Healthcareer Association (NHA). Connecticut, New Jersey , New York, and Pennsylvania do not require individuals to earn the CPCT/A credential before becoming eligible for employment. The College has not made a determination with respect to certification requirements of other states. Employers may require the CPCT/A credential or prefer candidates who have obtained the CPCT/A credential.This program requires students to participate in the Certified Electrocardiography - CET (NHA) and Certified Phlebotomy -CPT (NHA) exam. Additionally, students must take and pass the Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers - BLS (AHA) exam.
