As of April 1, 2014, certified coders will be required to exhibit knowledge and skill using ICD-10-CM diagnosis codes (replacing ICD-9-CM volumes 1 and 2). This course will provide a 6-part overview of the new ICD-10-CM code set and introduce you to the new code structure, new Official Guidelines for Reporting and highlight any additional clinical documentation details necessary to accurately determine the codes. Upon successful completion of this course (75% or higher on each module assessment), participants will earn 6 CEUs (continuing education units) valid for both American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) and American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC).
