Lactation Rooms for Students
Berkeley College supports students who are parents. In accordance with federal, state and local laws and the College College Title IX Policy, the College shall support students who wish to express breast milk during the course of their academic studies.
At each campus location, the College shall provide a lactation room and a refrigerator suitable for breast milk storage. A lactation room is a sanitary place, other than a restroom, that can be used to express breast milk, shielded from view and free from intrusion, and that includes at minimum:
- An electrical outlet;
- A chair;
- A surface on which to place a breast pump and other personal items; and
- Nearby access to running water.
For access to a lactation room, and/or if you have any questions, please contact: Student Development & Campus Life at 973-546-2925 or SDCL@BerkeleyCollge.edu.
