New York State residents who meet specific criteria can enroll in certain degree programs at the Berkeley College New York City campus and qualify for a reduction in loans or out-of-pocket balance for tuition and fees.
The Berkeley College New York Tuition Relief Grant II applies to these degree programs:
- Applied Media (BS)
- Interior Design (AAS and BFA)
- Fashion Merchandising & Management (AAS and BBA)
Berkeley College New York Tuition Relief Grant II
Amount: New York State residents enrolled full-time in an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree program in New York City can qualify for a reduction in loans or out-of-pocket balance for tuition and fees.
Open to: High school, adult, transfer students, and VA Benefit recipients. Restrictions: Cannot be combined with any Berkeley College grants or scholarships.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Satisfy Berkeley College admissions requirements and be accepted to the College.
- Complete a FAFSA each new aid year by January 1 and be eligible for the maximum Federal Pell Grant.
- Must be eligible for the New York State Tuition Assistance Program (TAP).
- Have sufficient federal and state financial aid eligibility to complete an Associate’s and Bachelor's degree.
- Complete all federal and state financial aid verification requirements before the semester begins.
- Be a full‐time student and maintain satisfactory academic progress, for Federal and State, each semester.
- Maintain on-site full-time, continuous, consecutive term enrollment. Students may not be enrolled as an online student, but they may enroll in individual online classes to fulfill degree requirements.
Renewability Requirements:
- Maintain on-site full-time, continuous, consecutive term enrollment. Students cannot regain eligibility upon readmission.
- Maintain Federal and State satisfactory academic progress each semester.
- Complete a FAFSA and complete all federal and state financial aid verification requirements before each semester begins.
- Earn a total of at least 24 credits within two consecutive semesters to be eligible for this program in the subsequent third semester.
