Andrea Kennedy, MEd
Andrea Kennedy is the new lead of the Fashion department at Berkeley College in New York City. A fashion and sustainability designer, strategist, sourcing specialist and educator, she was Vice President of Sustainability at Material Exchange, where she developed measurable and positive changes in digital material sourcing for fashion and footwear brands, suppliers, and textile agents.
Ms. Kennedy has more than 25 years of experience in design, merchandising, product development, sourcing, sustainability and ESG work, including 10 years leading sustainability at Fashiondex, where she consulted with high-profile fashion brands on implementing sustainable practices across all areas of design, production and sourcing. She spent seven years at LIM College, where she was Associate Chair of Fashion Merchandising and developed and taught all the fashion sustainability courses. She is a Sustainable Apparel Coalition strategic council member, Climate Reality Leader mentor and speaker, and board member at ESRAP- Educators for Socially Responsible Apparel Practices.
Ms. Kennedy holds a BA in Fashion Design from Parsons, an MEd from Manhattanville College, an Advanced Certificate in Sustainability from Manhattanville College, and was a Zankel Fellow for Climate Change Education at Columbia University in 2020 and 2021.
