Jason Gulya, PhD, is a Professor of English and Applied Media at Berkeley College. He teaches courses on reading and writing, the humanities, and artificial intelligence (AI). Dr. Gulya has worked with colleges and universities all over the world as a consultant and keynote speaker. He focuses on the role of AI in higher education, what AI means for the future of writing and communication, and conceptualizing academic integrity for this new world.

Dr. Gulya is the author “Allegory in Enlightenment Britain: Literary Abominations” (2022) and co-author of “Artificial Intelligence, Real Literacy: A Practical Guide To Using AI For 10 Evidence-Based Literacy Practices in Education” (2025). He has been featured in Forbes, Business Insider, and several other major publications. He was named an “Innovator to Watch” by INNOVATE100.

Dr. Gulya holds a BA, an MA, and a PhD from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, where he received several teaching awards. At Berkeley College, he was selected as Faculty of the Year in 2020 and served as the Faculty Speaker at the 2021 Commencement ceremony.
