Kenneth L. Weinstein

Ken is President and Chief Executive Officer of Newtown Savings Bank, a mutual savings bank meeting the needs of Newtown, CT and surrounding towns since 1885.

Ken’s banking career has included senior management roles in the deposit, investment, credit card, consumer, and commercial lending businesses. He has also led significant corporate initiatives, including developing and implementing a pioneering operational risk management program, spearheading strategic IT projects, and co-chairing diversity and inclusion efforts.

Ken has been on the Berkeley College Board of Trustees since 1997. In addition to Berkeley College and Newtown Savings Bank, he currently serves on the Boards of the United Way of Western Connecticut, LifeBridge Community Services, and the Greater Valley Chamber of Commerce. He was previously chairman of the boards of FSW, Inc., (predecessor to LifeBridge), and Literacy Volunteers of America – Southeastern Fairfield County.  In 2011, he was recognized as a Family Champion by the Connecticut Council of Family Services Agencies. 

Ken graduated magna cum laude from Dartmouth College and received his MBA from Harvard Business School.
