Robert Maguire
Robert Maguire was named Assistant Vice President, Public Safety and Emergency Management in 2016. Prior to this promotion, he held the position of Assistant Director of Public Safety for Berkeley College.
Mr. Maguire previously served more than 25 years with the Kearny Police Department before retiring as a Detective Sergeant. There, he was the lead supervisor involving all criminal investigations where children were involved.
He spent the majority of his career working with children, educators, and administrators within the Kearny School District. This included crime suppression as well as developing educational programs covering topics such as date rape, domestic violence, and driver’s education. He also monitored the school’s implementation and training of the lockdown and shelter-in-place procedures.
Mr. Maguire has extensive experience in public speaking, having spoken to business, student, and parent groups on the dangers of drug and alcohol abuse, as well as providing insight on the benefits of careers in law enforcement.
