Rachel Adler Jaffee, Esq
Rachel Adler Jaffee, Esq, was named Associate General Counsel and Associate Vice President, Compliance, in January 2019. As the senior member of the legal team, she and the other members of the Office of the General Counsel monitor compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations; develop policies and procedures that facilitate institutional goals while reducing risk and promoting ethical conduct; and provide legal guidance to the Berkeley College community. Ms. Jaffee previously served as the Assistant General Counsel and Assistant Vice President, Compliance for Berkeley College.
Before joining Berkeley College in 2010, Ms. Jaffee served as Deputy Counsel to the Inspector General for the New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA), where she investigated allegations of fraud, corruption, conflicts of interest, and criminality and generally counseled and provided legal advice to NYCHA staff. Prior to serving the NYCHA, she practiced various fields of law, including employment, intellectual property, healthcare, and products liability.
Ms. Jaffee is admitted to practice law in New York and New Jersey. She is a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association, the New Jersey Women Lawyers Association, and the Association of Corporate Counsel.
She holds a JD from Albany Law School of Union University, where she graduated cum laude. She also holds a BA in Economics from the University of Rochester, where she graduated Phi Beta Kappa and magna cum laude.
