Dave Gettleman retired in 2022 following a 50-year career in teaching, coaching, and athletic administration, beginning as a public school teacher and coach. His 37-year career in the NFL began in 1986 and was highlighted by seven Super Bowl appearances with three wins. He held General Manager positions with the Carolina Panthers and New York Giants, and was named the NFL Executive of the Year in 2015. Every team Dave worked for went to a Super Bowl–the Buffalo Bills, Denver Broncos, NY Giants, and Carolina Panthers. The 2015 Carolina Panthers are one of only four NFL teams to ever start a season 14-0.
