Heidi Castrillon 

Heidi Castrillon is an American businesswoman and journalist of Peruvian origin. She studied International Commerce at the University of Argentina, working at the same time at the Trade Office of the Embassy of Peru in Argentina. She worked at the Peruvian Consulate in New York and developed Marketing projects for the Latin division of Uniliver in 2001. She worked in the Marine department of the Evergreen Shipping Agency for 14 years, and as a Marketing Executive at Marriott International. 

Ms. Castrillon is Director and Founder of BIZ Republic magazine and Biz Republic portal, media companies created as a great personal and professional challenge in the midst of the international financial crisis of 2008 and in support of the negotiation process of the Free Trade Agreement between Peru and the United States.

Ms. Castrillon has created and promoted business, social, cultural, gastronomy and fashion events in the United States, as well as initiatives in Peru focused on innovation, productive inclusion and entrepreneurship, with emphasis on the development of SMEs. She has participated in international events such as the Business Advisory Council of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Forum (APEC) held in Lima in 2008, and the APEC Summit in Honolulu, Hawaii in 2012.

Ms. Castrillon has been recognized by the cities of Jersey City, Paterson and Union City, NJ, as an outstanding businesswoman and for her leadership within the Hispanic community. She received the Outstanding Women award in 2015 from El Diario Nueva York. In 2017, she was appointed by Governor Chris Christie to the Governor’s Council on Mental Health Stigma.
