Promotion of Wellness Programs Range from Participation in National Wear Red Day to Incentives that Lower Employee Medical Premium Differentials

Photo Caption: Members of the Berkeley College Human Resources department accept a 2019 Well-Being Award from Cigna Corporation. The Well-Being Awards recognized nine companies that demonstrate a strong commitment to improve the health and wellness of its culture through workplace wellness programs. Key components to receive this award include leadership, foundations, program implementation, tools and health participation data. At Berkeley College, the program includes a Wellness Committee, with members representing each of the six campuses and Berkeley College Online®; incentives for employees to participate in activities that lower their medical premium differentials; a Healthy Living newsletter; Lunch and Learn webinars; and National Wear Red Day in support of heart health, among other activities. The 2019 Cigna Well-Being Award Celebration took place on October 10, 2019, at Battello Restaurant in Jersey City. “The Berkeley College Wellness Program has been an intricate part of our employee engagement as well as increasing awareness about health issues,” Ms. Carpentieri said.
