Dolores M. Fernández, Ph.D.

Dolores retired from the City University of New York where she served as President of Hostos Community College - The City University of New York for eleven and a half years. Prior to this position, she served as Deputy Chancellor for Instruction and Development for the New York City Board of Education. She also served as Deputy Commissioner for Program Services and as Director of Education for the New York State Division for Youth. She served as a Board member of the Bronx Overall Economic Development Corporation, the Centerlight Health Services in the Bronx for 15 years. Dolores was elected to the Berkeley College Board of Trustees in June 2009. 

Dolores earned a B.S. from the State University of New York at Old Westbury, an M.S. in Education from Long Island University – C.S. Post College, and a Ph.D. from Hofstra University in Long Island City, New York. Dolores has served in many leadership positions for the City University of New York and the State University of New York. She is a published author and has earned certificates in Accelerated Schools for Urban School Reform from Stanford University and the M.B.A. Board Leadership Program from Harvard University.
