Jenny Sena, DHSc, MS, PA-C

Dr. Jenny Sena was raised in Queens, New York before moving to New Jersey. She is fluent in Spanish, Italian, and Croatian. Dr. Sena started her career as a Microbiologist at several hospitals in New York City. She later returned to school to pursue a career in Physician Assistant (PA) studies. She received her certificate as a Physician Assistant at Bayley Seton Hospital in Staten Island, New York in 1996. In her role as a PA, she has worked in the areas of emergency medicine, pediatrics, urgent care, employee health, and Department of Defense. She has also participated in medical mission trips to England, Guatemala, Peru, and Belize.

Dr. Sena started her career in academia as an adjunct professor over ten years ago. She has served in many full-time roles at colleges and universities in New York and New Jersey that have included Academic Coordinator, Graduate Coordinator, Capstone Advisor, Director of Clinical Education, Research Coordinator, Data Outcomes and Assessment Coordinator, and PA Program Director. She has also taught undergraduate and graduate courses in the health professions and has played an active role in successful Middle States and ARC-PA accreditation. Dr. Sena has been involved in research and has published articles on simulation and the COVID-19 pandemic. She also serves as an active member on several professional organizations and Diversity & Inclusion Committees in New York and New Jersey.

Dr. Sena holds a Doctorate in Health Sciences from A.T. Still University in Arizona; Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees in Microbiology from Wagner College, New York; and a Certificate in Physician Assistant from Bayley Seton Hospital, New York.
