Julia Hutchinson
Professor Hutchinson’s passion for education was ignited early on, influenced by her mom who was also a schoolteacher. Driven by her innate love for technology and creativity, she discovered her natural calling within the college classroom. Julia holds a BA in Creative Arts & Technology from Bloomfield College and an MS in Education Media Design and Technology from Full Sail University, where she graduated valedictorian and was awarded multiple course director awards.
With over two decades of experience, Julia is a seasoned graphic designer, instructional designer, and college professor. She specializes in fusing traditional design concepts with new immersive technologies, including AI/AR/VR. Professor Hutchinson’s most recent accomplishments involved the creation of the Graphic Design Virtual Metaverse Gallery.
Julia's professional journey includes working as an instructional designer for the School of Dentistry at Rutgers as well as the School of Professional Studies and School of Health Studies at Berkeley College. In her freelance venture, Joule Design Consulting, she creates stunning visuals, brand identity, motion graphics, and social media for various clients. Outside of work, Julia enjoys playing Mario Kart 8, crocheting, watching classic cartoons, sports, and her Shih Tzu, “Jake from Statefarm.”
