Sherrille Shabazz, EdD
Sherrille Shabazz, EdD, was named Vice President, Student Development and Campus Life, in May 2022. In this role, she provides leadership and vision for all student engagement programs at Berkeley College, including volunteerism and clubs, athletics, counseling, accessibility services, and the annual Commencement ceremony, among other areas. Shabazz also serves as Title IX Coordinator, ensuring the College adheres to federal and state statues and provides a learning and working environment that is free of discrimination.
Shabazz joined Berkeley College in 2010, and has served in leadership roles including Associate Dean and Assistant Vice President, Student Development and Campus Life. She has also served as a faculty member in the Berkeley College School of Liberal Arts (now Division of General Education).
Shabazz is a member of the Berkeley College COVID-19 Task Force and the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Advisory Committee. She was named to the City & State New York Responsible 100 list, recognizing leaders committed to enduring change through social responsibility. Shabazz also received an Honorable Mention for the Berkeley College Associate of the Year – Student Centered Award in 2013.
Shabazz holds a Doctor of Education in Educational Administration from Dowling College, and a Master of Arts in English Literature and a Bachelor of Arts in English Writing Arts and Public Relations from the State University of New York at Oswego.
