The Berkeley College Office of Student Development and Campus Life (SDCL) is the link to information on health matters. Maintaining a healthy lifestyle and being proactive to prevent illness can help keep students on track with their studies, work responsibilities, and personal obligations.
Berkeley College is an educational institution committed to maintaining an environment that allows students and associates to enjoy the benefits of a substance-free environment and to understand the negative consequences of the misuse of alcohol and drugs on their lives.

The Student Development and Campus Life Department is available to assist students with education, information, counseling, and referral services for alcohol and drugs.
General advisement is provided to students who need to take the first step in acknowledging the presence of an alcohol or drug-related problem. Referrals will be made for treatment programs and to outside agencies, as appropriate.

SAMHSA’S National Helpline
SAMHSA’s National Helpline, 1-800-662-HELP (4357) (also known as the Treatment Referral Routing Service), or TTY: 1-800-487-4889 is a confidential, free, 24-hour-a-day, 365-day-a-year, information service, in English and Spanish, for individuals and family members facing mental and/or substance use disorders. This service provides referrals to local treatment facilities, support groups, and community-based organizations.
National Suicide Prevention Lifeline
Not just a suicide hotline, this lifeline offers help with issues of drug and alcohol abuse. Dial 988.

Crisis Text Line
Crisis Text Line offers advice and referrals for anyone who feels that they’re experiencing a crisis. This can include drug and alcohol dependency, suicidal impulses, family problems, and other personal difficulties. To access the Crisis Text Line, text HOME to 741741 any time, day or night.
