Berkeley College Announces Virtual Summer Workshops for High School Students

FOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS
in Fashion, Legal, Justice Studies, Business and Healthcare
High school students are invited to explore dynamic career fields including fashion, legal and justice studies, business leadership and healthcare, during a virtual Summer Workshop series offered by Berkeley College in July. The 90-minute workshops are free, but registration is required.
The workshops, which in past years have been offered on-site, will feature conversations with industry leaders and experiential learning through live demonstrations and virtual field trips.

Fashion – Monday, July 13, 2020, 1 p.m.
The Fashion Summer Workshop will feature speakers from Steve Madden, WindowsWear and other leaders in design and merchandising. Berkeley College professors will examine emerging trends including sustainable fashion, and will present information on how to create a brand story, develop a target market and mission statement, and select influencers that best represent your brand.
Legal and Justice Studies – Tuesday, July 14, 2020, 1 p.m.
The Legal and Justice Studies Summer Workshop will feature speakers from the Morris County Sheriff’s Office, the Butler Police Department and the U.S. Secret Service. Berkeley College professors from the Justice Studies and Legal Studies programs will examine images and footage of actual crime scenes and will present information on civil rights, use of force, burden of proof and other topics.
Business Leadership – Wednesday, July 15, 2020, 1 p.m.
The Business Leadership Summer Workshop will feature speakers from JP Morgan Chase, Amazon and the New York Mets. Berkeley College professors will examine topics in leadership and motivation, such as how participants can inspire others to reach their full potential.
Healthcare – Thursday, July 16, 2020, 1 p.m.
The Healthcare Summer Workshop will feature speakers from the Musculoskeletal Transplant Foundation, Robert Wood Johnson Hospital, and Zufall Health Center. Berkeley College professors from the Surgical Technology, Surgical Processing Technical, Medical Assistant, Patient Care Technician, and Medical Insurance, Billing and Coding programs will present information about the healthcare industry and mock surgery demonstrations.
