The Berkeley College community celebrated the reopening of its Professional Clothing Corner in Woodland Park, NJ, during a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Wednesday, September 21, 2022. The resource offers new and gently used professional clothing – from suits and ties to other business attire – to students and alumni, at no cost.

“While the workplace has become more informal for some since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, employers still expect candidates to be professionally dressed for an interview,” said Lynn Stamatelatos, Assistant Director, Alumni Relations and Career Services, Berkeley College. “The Professional Clothing Corner is another resource we can offer our students to help them build confidence and be successful.”

The Berkeley College Office of Career Services is dedicated to assisting students in identifying and pursuing job and internship opportunities. The team of Career Services specialists offers a professional clothing resource at each Berkeley College campus in New Jersey and New York, in additional to resume-writing and interview preparation services. Berkeley graduates receive free career assistance.

The Professional Clothing Corner was relocated to Berkeley College’s Renaissance Hall alongside other student resources, including the recently opened Berkeley College Foundation Food Pantry

“While Berkeley College has offered professional clothing in the past, today’s focus is to remind our students of this valuable resource at the Woodland Park campus,” said LaTysha Gaines, Campus Operating Officer, Berkeley College in Woodland Park, NJ.

Frandy Concepcion and Katherine Seferin, both Berkeley College students from Paterson, NJ, recently utilized the Professional Clothing Corner to find outfits for interviews and professional events.

“The suit gave me a lot of confidence when I went for my interview,” said Concepcion, wearing a tan and black ensemble.

Clothing is donated by Berkeley College employees, as well as by employers in the community at-large.
