The Woodbridge Metro Chamber of Commerce honored Berkeley College as its Business Education Partnership Champion during the Chamber’s 58th Annual Chairman’s Awards Dinner, held on Wednesday, October 19, 2022, at the Delta Hotels by Marriott in Iselin, NJ. Berkeley College celebrates 40 years in Woodbridge, NJ, in 2022.
According to the Chamber, the Annual Chairman’s Awards Dinner provides an opportunity for the community to recognize those individuals, organizations, and businesses who are distinguishing themselves through their good works and serve as an inspiration to others.
“On behalf of the Woodbridge Metro Chamber of Commerce, we were honored to recognize Berkeley College and Dr. Diane Recinos as our Business Education Partnership Champion,” said Holly B. Church-Doyle, Executive Director, Woodbridge Metro Chamber of Commerce. “Berkeley College has been, and continues to be, a strong supporter within the Chamber of Commerce and the Woodbridge community. We are fortunate to have partners and advocates that continually stand for economic development, growth within our communities, and the support of our future.”
Berkeley College officials have served in various roles with the Chamber as well as with the Main Street Special Improvement District and the Woodbridge Economic Development Corporation (WEDCO). The College also supports nonprofits and community organizations through its BerkeleyCares initiative.
Berkeley College students have served as interns and are employed by Woodbridge Township, the Woodbridge Fire Department, and several other local organizations. The College has also established Corporate Learning Partnerships with Woodbridge companies to offer discounted tuition to employees seeking to learn new skills or pursue a degree to advance their careers.

“Being part of the Woodbridge Metro Chamber of Commerce has been instrumental for Berkeley College,” said Diane Recinos, EdD, President of Berkeley College. “Our students and associates have taken advantage of the relationship through the various business networks. Our students have had the opportunity to engage in internships, Federal Work Study positions, employment, and volunteerism.”
In honor of its 90th anniversary in 2021, Berkeley College planted a commemorative cherry tree outside of Woodbridge Town Hall to symbolize the College’s legacy in the community.
“It is an honor to be a part of a college that puts students first and works closely with the Woodbridge Metro Chamber of Commerce,” said Jennifer DeJesus, Campus Operating Officer, Berkeley College in Woodbridge, who serves as Chair-Elect of the Chamber Board.
