Students and professionals seeking career guidance can gain valuable insight into some of today’s most exciting career fields during the Career Experience at Berkeley College, held on Thursday, July 25, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the New York City campus, 3 East 43rd Street. Attendees will hear from expert guest speakers and learn about the training and skills needed to advance their educational and career journeys. The event is free, but registration is required.

Information Technology Management: Artificial Intelligence: What is it? Why does it matter? And how can you use it?
Participants will join in a timely discussion on artificial intelligence (AI) and platforms such as ChatGPT, experimenting with their applications.
Speakers include (L to R) Lou Piermatteo, DM, Professor, Business Analytics and Technology, Berkeley College Larry L. Luing School of Business®; and JapNeet Kaur, Security and Risk Management Lead, IBM.
Criminal Justice/Legal Studies: Social Justice – A Walk in the Shoes of the NYPD
In this social justice scenario, attendees will be asked to “step into the shoes” of a police officer and participate in a re-enactment of a police encounter. Participants will then collectively discuss and decide whether the actions were justified within the law and policy.

Fashion: Circular Styles! Fashion Workshop!
During this workshop on sustainable fashion strategy, attendees will examine the sustainable aspects of the fascinating business of fashion – merchandising, design, production strategies, and more. Participants will work on an interactive group activity to employ those strategies and complete a “fashion outfit redesign” Attendees will also meet Berkeley College’s designer-in-residence, Chuks Collins, in his design studio.

Health Services Management: My Skills. My Future.
This fun and interactive session will help attendees understand the many different healthcare management roles and how their skills align with them. Learn about the duties, abilities, and necessary qualifications associated with each to help evaluate what career you will pursue.

Business: Hands-On Simulated Corporation Workshop
In this experiential hands-on exercise, attendees will create a real-life mock corporation in a “Think Tank” and develop a viable product or service offering. Your “company” will be reviewed by a panel of potential investors who will assess whether they will invest in the company and provide insight to improvements if needed based on theory covered and chosen market.
