NJBIZ Recognizes Berkeley College Associate Vice President, Alumni Relations and Career Services, among 2024 Forty Under 40 Honorees

NJBIZ recently recognized Michael Iris, EdD, Associate Vice President, Alumni Relations and Career Services, among its Forty Under 40, honoring professionals who are “shaping the economic future of New Jersey.” He is a resident of Randolph, NJ. Recipients will be recognized at a ceremony on Thursday, September 12, 2024, at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Somerset, NJ.
According to NJBIZ, the awards were first announced in 2006 to recognize individuals for their notable successes and strong leadership. Forty individuals are recognized in the fields of health care, finance, real estate, law, education and other areas.

As Associate Vice President, Alumni Relations and Career Services, Iris maintains strong connections between Berkeley College and its graduates, as well as establishes partnerships with local businesses that have resulted in internships and job placements for students and alumni. Iris joined Berkeley College in 2009 as the College’s first Social Media Manager, pioneering its social media presence and fostering student connections in the digital age. He is a member of the College’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion; Innovation; Strategic Planning; and Community Service committees, and serves as an officer with the Berkeley College Foundation.
Iris holds a doctorate in Educational Leadership from Saint Elizabeth University; a Master of Science in Graphic Communications and Technology Management from Kean University; and a Bachelor of Science in Marketing and Management from Centenary University. He was honored with the Distinguished Alumni Award for exceptional community service from Centenary University, where he also serves as an instructor.
Iris is a 2016 graduate of the Leadership Morris program through the Morris County Chamber of Commerce.
Iris and his husband are licensed resource parents with the New Jersey Department of Children and Families. The New Jersey Supreme Court has appointed him to serve as a public ethics investigator for the District XA Ethics Committee for Morris County. He is also a volunteer with environmental conservation group NNJ Trout Unlimited and Embrella, an organization offering support to foster/adoptive parents.
