ALUMNI SPOTLIGHT:
MBA GRADUATE EXPANDS LEADERSHIP HORIZONS AS
SENIOR MANAGER WITH ATLANTIC HEALTH SYSTEM
As the Senior Manager of Patient Access and Epic Security Team for Atlantic Health System, Christine Peraino understands the importance of leadership in business. The Berkeley College alumna began her career at Chilton Medical Center more than 24 years ago, working in patient access and medical records.
Through hard work and a commitment to lifelong learning, Peraino advanced in her career and now manages a team of more than 20 team members, driving exceptional patient experience and outcomes through revenue cycle innovations. She has been an active member of the American Health Information Management Association since 2001.
“I consider myself fortunate to have discovered such a fulfilling career,” said Peraino, a resident of Vernon, NJ. “I’ve experienced significant personal and professional growth, and I take pride in my achievements.”
In 2012, Peraino enrolled in the Health Services Management program at Berkeley College. Although she was working full time, she knew a degree had the potential to further advance her career and earning potential.
Peraino planned to take one class at a time and slowly finish her degree. That all changed when she met the Berkeley College team.
With the help and encouragement of Michael Lincoln, then Director of Adult Admissions, Peraino received a grant to study full time, and completed a Bachelor of Science in 2015. At Berkeley College, she was inducted into two national honor societies – Alpha Sigma Lamba, which honors high-achieving adult and non-traditional students, and Sigma Beta Delta, which recognizes students of business, management, or administration.
When Peraino received the news that Berkeley College would offer a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Management, she jumped at the chance to enroll.
“I received so much support and guidance during my undergraduate degree,” she said. “I knew the Berkeley College MBA program would be a great fit for me. The faculty have real-world management experience and are dedicated to ensuring our success.”
Peraino added that the skills she acquired during her MBA journey have been integral to her development as a manager and leader in the healthcare industry.
“I am learning so much about myself as a manager and look forward to my future growth and development,” she said.
