BEYOND THE CLASSROOM: BERKELEY COLLEGE PROFESSOR PRESENTS PUBLISHED WORKS ON DANTE IN ITALY  

Berkeley College professor Filippa Modesto, PhD, presents her published works about Dante in Italy.

Photo Caption: Professor Filippa Modesto, PhD, Co-Chair, English, Berkeley College School of Liberal Arts, participated in several public and scholarly events in Italy, related to published works by Dante. Dr. Modesto is the author of Dante’s Idea of Friendship: The Transformation of a Classical Concept, published by University of Toronto Press in 2015. The Italian publisher, Aracne, published the volume of work translated from Italian to English in March 2019. Above, Dr. Modesto presents “Virgil: Verbum, Silence, and Sacrifice” at the International Dante 2019 Conference, Alma Dante in Ravenna. Dr. Modesto also presented her work to students and faculty at Roma Tre University, a public research university in Rome. She introduced the book to prospective readers and viewers on the Italian television program Spazio Scenico, in an interview broadcast on Aracne TV in Rome.
