AND STAFF REFLECT AND GIVE BACK ON SEPTEMBER 11

On Wednesday, September 11, 2019, Berkeley College will host events to remember and honor the victims, survivors and heroes of the 9/11 attacks. The College also will participate in September 11 National Day of Service and Remembrance, an observance that promotes community service as a tribute to those whose lives were lost. - Newark Campus (536 Broad Street) – From 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the Student Lounge, volunteers will create no-sew fleece blankets for hospitalized children through the Project Linus initiative. For more information, contact Sandra Garcia at SDG@BerkeleyCollege.edu or ext. 6185.
- Midtown Manhattan Campus (3 East 43rd Street and 11 East 41st Street) – On Friday, September 13, 2019, at 1 p.m., students will visit the 9/11 Memorial and Museum. The group will leave from the 43rd Street Campus. For more information, contact James Marshmon at james-marshmon2@BerkeleyCollege.edu or ext. 4214.
- Berkeley College Online® – Volunteers can register their National Day of Service and Remembrance activity at https://nationalservice.gov/. Katherine Wu, Personal Counselor, will lead a group discussion about September 11 on Zoom from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Students and associates are also invited to share their reflections via a padlet collaboration board. - Paramus Campus (64 East Midland Avenue) – From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., students and associates can reflect on the events of September 11 by viewing videos and documentaries in Room 124. For more information, contact Jennifer Litvak at JRL@BerkeleyCollege.edu or ext. 1736.
- White Plains Campus (99 Church Street) – On Friday, September 13, 2019, at 1 p.m., students will visit the 9/11 Memorial and Museum. The group will meet in the campus Lobby at 10:30 a.m. For more information, contact Alexandra Silvestre at alexandr-silvestr@BerkeleyCollege.edu or ext. 3364.
- Woodbridge Campus (430 Rahway Avenue) – Beginning at 8:46 a.m. in the Student Center, the campus community will observe a moment of silence. On Friday, September 13, 2019, at 1 p.m., students will visit the 9/11 Memorial and Museum. The group will leave from the campus at 11:30 a.m. For more information, contact Helena Ross at helena-ross@BerkeleyCollege.edu or ext. 1393.
- Woodland Park Campus (44 Rifle Camp Road) – The campus will display Reflections projects – personal portraits that capture the emotions of veterans and military families during and after military service – in the Atrium through September 13, 2019. Military and veteran students and members of the Spartans Club will hand out remembrance ribbons from 12 to 1:30 p.m. and 5 to 6 p.m. The campus community will observe moments of silence at 8:46 and 9:03 a.m. A remembrance ceremony will be held at 12 p.m. in the Atrium.
