Share the News: @BerkeleyCollege #BreastCancerAwarenessMonth #BerkeleyCares Photo Caption: During the month of October, Berkeley College’s 20 Security officers at campuses in New York and New Jersey will don pink ties in support of breast cancer awareness. According to the American Cancer Society, one in eight women (about 13 percent) will be diagnosed with invasive breast cancer in her lifetime. In 2019, 268,600 new cases of invasive breast cancer are expected to be diagnosed in women and 2,670 cases diagnosed in men. “The Berkeley College Security team is proud to show support for students, faculty, staff, alumni and their families who have been affected by breast cancer,” said Robert Maguire, Assistant Vice President, Public Safety, Berkeley College. “Our Security officers are often the first faces visitors see when entering a campus, and we hope our pink ties will bring awareness to the forefront this October.” The College raised more than $1,200 for the American Cancer Society by participating in its National Denim Day initiative on October 4, 2019.
