Photo Caption: Top: Student-veterans, families, friends and other members of the Berkeley College community gathered on Veterans Day in New York City to celebrate and recognize the services provided by United States military forces. Marching from 26th Street, down Madison Avenue and up Fifth Avenue past the red carpet set out for the 100th anniversary ceremony of the parade, excitement was abundant as cheers and applause from supporters lining the sidewalks filled the air. Bands played and Berkeley College students and staff greeted bystanders with American flags. Berkeley College has students who are serving or who have served in the U.S. Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine Corps.

Bottom: The Berkeley College Office of Military and Veterans Affairs (OMVA) recently expanded its Veterans Resources Center (VRC) located at 12 East 41st Street in New York City, so that representatives from New York City organizations that support veterans can meet with students to share resources and services. You can read the story about the VRC here. The Berkeley College Spartans Student-Veteran Club and OMVA lead and conduct activities throughout the year to support fellow veterans and active service members. Holiday toy drives are under way at campuses in both New Jersey (left) and New York, supporting St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital in Paterson, NJ, and U.S. Marines Toys for Tots. The Berkeley College Online® campus has adopted an Air Force unit, collecting items from a wish list the unit sent. A member of the unit’s sister is a Berkeley College student.
