On Tuesday, May 4, 2021, officials from Investors Foundation, the community financing division of Investors Bank, presented the Berkeley College Foundation with $5,000 to support the student Food Pantry based at Berkeley College’s Newark, NJ, campus. The Food Pantry, which opened in January 2019 in collaboration with the Berkeley College Foundation and Community Food Bank of NJ, has expanded in the past year to help alleviate increased food insecurity among students as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. The Food Pantry now serves Berkeley College students across four New Jersey campuses using a contactless distribution system. The Berkeley College Foundation also opened a second student Food Pantry at Berkeley College’s Midtown Manhattan campus in February 2021, one of only 24 college and university food pantries throughout the five boroughs in New York City.

“We are grateful for the generosity of Investors Foundation. Their support will ensure that more students have access to nutrition that will support their academic progression to the graduation stage,” said Michael J. Smith, President of Berkeley College.

“The Food Pantry and level of support that Berkeley College extends to its students are impressive. Working together, we can improve the well-being of our communities so that students can make the most of every opportunity to build a better future,” said MaryRose Genovese, Senior Vice President and Retail Market Executive, Investors Bank.
