Dear Berkeley College Community,

Over the last several months, Berkeley College’s leadership team and COVID-19 Task Force have been diligently planning for the return of more students, faculty, and staff members to our campuses. Your safety remains our highest priority as we transition back to more in-person classes and activities.

All campuses are open and equipped for COVID-19 safety. Hybrid classes are currently in session at the Newark, Woodland Park, Woodbridge, and Midtown Manhattan campuses for the spring semester, which runs through August 7, 2021. Approximately 40 percent of Fall 2021 courses will be conducted in person and approximately 25 percent of courses will be offered in a hybrid modality, with the remaining courses offered online. Please contact your Academic Advisor with any questions about course scheduling for Fall 2021.

Faculty, staff, and students must continue to follow the health and safety guidelines outlined in the College’s Restart Plans. Vaccination is not currently a requirement for any group. As we have been communicating to you, there are numerous protocols in place to help reduce the risk of COVID-19 exposure at Berkeley College.

The COVID-19 Health Questionnaire allows you to report your health status each time you visit a campus. Masks or cloth face coverings are required while inside any campus building. Additional COVID-19 safety efforts include, but are not limited to, social distancing; frequent cleaning and disinfection; the regular replacement of HVAC filters; increasing outside air intake; the installation of air filtration purifiers and bipolar ionization technology in ventilation systems; self-cleaning covers/sleeves on door handles; reduced capacity in classrooms and common spaces; and plexiglass barriers in common areas and student support offices.

These protocols are subject to change based upon guidance from public health and government entities. If you have any questions about Berkeley’s protocols, please email: COVID19@BerkeleyCollege.edu.

Berkeley College’s Campus Operations, Buildings & Grounds, and Public Safety teams have done an exceptional job maintaining and preparing our facilities for a safe return to greater on-site operations.

All of us are looking forward to seeing more of you on campus soon.

Sincerely,

Michael J. Smith
President
