Eight Berkeley College student-athletes were named to the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) Division II Soccer All-American or All-Academic teams and Goalkeeper Klae Nicholson was named USCAA Soccer Student-Athlete of the Year, after a historic season for the Berkeley College New Jersey Men’s Soccer team. 

“Our student-athletes worked tremendously hard during this season, and we are proud to celebrate the dedication, talent and character that has garnered them these achievements as USCAA All-Americans and All-Academics,” said Andy DeStephano, Director of Athletics, Berkeley College. 

“I could not be more proud of this Berkeley Knights team of 2021, where they showed class, quality and resilience all season,” said Head Coach Bruno Ferreira, Berkeley College New Jersey Men’s Soccer team. “This team is a hard-working group of young men who have chemistry on and off the field.” 

The following Berkeley College student-athletes were recognized: 

USCAA Men’s Division II Soccer Student-Athlete of the Year 

  • Klae Nicholson of West Milford, NJ, West Milford High School – Goalkeeper 

USCAA Men’s Division II Soccer All-Academic Team

  • Eddie Becirovic of Edison, NJ, Edison High School – Midfielder
  • Erick Carabantes of Hillside, NJ, Hillside High School – Midfielder
  • Dylan Juardo of Hackensack, NJ, North Arlington High School – Forward
  • Kenneth Rubio-Tovar of Hawthorne, NJ, Hawthorne High School – Defender
  • Klae Nicholson of West Milford, NJ, West Milford High School – Goalkeeper 

USCAA Men’s Division II Soccer All-American Honorable Mention

  • Juan Josue Rodriguez of Englewood, NJ, Enlightium Academy – Midfielder 

USCAA Men’s Division II Soccer Second Team All-American

  • Erick Carabantes of Hillside, NJ, Hillside High School – Midfielder 

USCAA Men’s Division II Soccer First Team All-American

  • Esteban Pedrueza of Tandil, Argentina, Kearny High School – Forward
  • Salaimon Sawari of Brooklyn, NY, Parsippany High School – Defender 

USCAA Men’s Division II Soccer All-Tournament Team

  • Salaimon Sawari of Brooklyn, NY, Parsippany High School – Defender 

The Berkeley College New Jersey Men’s Soccer team concluded its season with a 3-2 loss against Penn State University – Brandywine in the USCAA National Championship. The Knights were ranked No. 1 for Men’s Division II Soccer in the first week of the USCAA Coaches Poll, released in September 2021. 

The Knights finished the 2021 season with a 14-6 overall record.
