During the ceremony, speakers and honorees U.S. Congresswomen Yvette Clarke (9th District of New York) and Carolyn Maloney (12th District of New York), and Assemblymember Rodneyse Bichotte Hermelyn (Assembly District 42), spoke about the importance of diversity and representation at all levels of government.

“The power of diversity is a real superpower,” said Congresswoman Clarke. “It’s time we collectively harness this power of goodwill to bring about the change we all want to see and be a part of.”
